Its my birthday!!! Well technically as I write this its tomorrow (9/26). Normally birthdays leave me feeling dejected and like a failure but I actually don't feel like that this year at all. Its not even the fact that I've had a decent year (didn't meet any of my personal goals but did make tangible progress towards them) I think as I'm getting older I'm realizing that some of the worst (and perhaps the only if you wanna get philosophical with it) pressure that exists in my life comes from... me.

I'm writing this to have my goals for the 27th year somewhere where I can check back on them. This is my list of what I hope to achieve or work toward:

starting a gym routine

- I'm humiliated to say I've been paying for my planet fitness membership for almost a year now and have only gone once. as someone who has yo-yo'd with weight their whole life I have never once felt comfortable or good about the gym.. I really want to get over that. not even a weight loss goal thing just a goal to get in a routine and be healthy

paying down debts

- I had a few credit cards that I had to max out to help my mom and my brother with some emergency bills a few years ago. those accounts are now allll the way to collections and I just started paying them off; I hope to have that completed and that chapter closed before my 28th birthday. I also plan to have my first car loan paid off by February 2025 so that I can get *drumroll* another auto loan! Hopefully for something brand new with better interest (rn I really want a Subaru Crosstrek; they're kind of the perfect car)

more travel!!

- because my first car was so old with so many miles on it I never felt super comfortable driving long distances (also because my mom relied so heavily on my car as well). when I do get another car I really want to do more daytrips/road trips/travel in general.

developing more language learning skills

- I really want to become more fluent in Spanish and French but to do that I need to understand English grammar rules. My goal is to become a master at my own language in the hopes that it will make learning other languages easier because when we start learning about Gerund verbs and past participles idk what the fuck that is in English let alone try to learn it in something else. a return to the basics is too needed for me lol.
I think to keep it more realistic to complete I'll stop my goals here but theres small things I want to accomplish too like starting a scrapbook and visitng local attractions more (we have a bunch in my city and I really don't know why I never go to them LMFAO) and and and. I hope everybody meets their goals and self expectations in this next year as well - I'll probably copy paste this next year and talk about how I worked on all these.
